The products behind Madach Software Ltd are the brainchild of the Managing Director Tommy Larkin. With thirty years programming experience and originally written in 2002, Tommy waited until his recent retirement before releasing the products.

The software packages were originally written purely as a bit of fun and were given to family and friends free of charge. However, such was the enthusiasm of the users he was encouraged to make them more widely available.

Tommy commented:
“ The idea for the products started five years ago when I heard my son complaining that he couldn’t remember the last time a particular referee had given his team a penalty. Football Master allows him to store as much information as he likes about any match involving his team. This data can then get accessed at any point in the future.

With distributors wishing to sell the product at £29.95 and then wanting to take anything up to a 75% cut, I took the decision to initially sell the product myself at £9.95. It immediately makes the software available to a wider audience which is the most important thing from my point of view. The packages were all written as a hobby so being able to provide enjoyment to others is just a bonus.

I have three grandchildren and I wanted the company name to reflect their names. After all, I’ll be using any profit from sales to spoil them! Madach is a combination of the letter within their names.

The initial reaction to the products has been great and I’m glad that they are capable of providing entertainment to other sports enthusiasts like myself. The beauty of it is that they appeal to everyone. They can be used by a young child to the older generation like myself!"
